Raise your gaze.

Today feels like a big day.

Energetically. Planetarily.

All the things.

There’s a full moon and plenty going on in the sky. You might dismiss that as fluffy, woo-woo nonsense — and that’s absolutely fine.

But personally, I find it stranger to believe that we’re somehow separate from the world and universe around us.

We’re affected by the weather. By the food we put into our bodies. By the moods, emotions and energy of the people around us. So why wouldn’t we be affected by the bigger, wider forces too?

Something to mull over.

Either way, today feels like a good moment to consider the vision you hold for your life.

How do you see the rest of 2026 playing out?

What would you like your life to look and feel like by 2030 — which is now only four years away, somehow?

And if you look even further ahead, what would you love the next decade to hold?

Oh, the power of reconnecting with the bigger vision for your life and work!

There’s an old personal development saying:

“Most people overestimate what they can achieve in a year and underestimate what they can achieve in a decade.”

I think there’s a great deal of truth in that.

We can place enormous pressure on ourselves to make everything happen immediately, while forgetting how much can change when we keep moving in a meaningful direction over time.

I’m at a funny stage of life myself. I can feel that I’m standing at the tipping point of a great deal of growth and change.

I’m actively growing my business.

There’s a new family home on the horizon.

I turn 40 in December and am already ideating the whole of 2027 as the “Festival of Heather”. Entirely on brand, I know. Why have a birthday when you can celebrate for an entire year?

Alongside all of that, my children continue to grow and change at astonishing speed. They are the most remarkable measure of time passing — and a constant reminder to slow down, look around and be present for the life that is happening now.

There is a lot to hold.

For all of us, at any given moment.

The plates, they do be spinning.

The balls, they do be up in the air.

And this is exactly when anchoring into your vision and mission can become the master stroke.

RAISING YOUR GAZE

When life is busy, it’s easy to become entirely consumed by what is directly in front of you.

The emails. The meetings. The childcare. The deadlines. The decisions. The never-ending list of things that apparently needed doing yesterday.

You can spend so much time managing the machinery of your life that you lose sight of where it is all meant to be taking you.

Vision asks you to raise your gaze.

To look beyond the everyday grind and out towards the horizon.

To reconnect with your higher self, your inner wisdom and the path you are deliberately choosing — rather than simply continuing along the one that circumstances have placed you on.

For me, today, that means reconnecting with the vision I hold for my work.

I am deeply privileged to work for myself. I’m also very aware that building a business requires a daily commitment to keep going — during seasons of plenty and during seasons when it feels as though you are building again from the ground up.

I work with so many wonderful people: leaders, founders, creatives, entrepreneurs, people climbing the ladder and people returning to work. They’re at different ages and stages, with different ambitions and motivations.

But, for the most part, the people are great.

That feels worth remembering.

Despite the chaos in the world and the relentless negative noise we’re force-fed through the media — social or otherwise — most people are out here doing their best.

They’re working hard to fulfil a role, contribute something worthwhile, build something meaningful or simply pay the bills.

Often, they’re trying to do several of those things at once.

When we’re deep in the mire and listening to all the noise outside us, it’s easy to overlook that.

But you’re doing your best, aren’t you?

Me too.

REMEMBER WHERE YOU’RE GOING

Perhaps today is an opportunity to pause.

Not because every detail of your future needs to be mapped out. It doesn’t.

But because there is power in remembering what you’re moving towards.

Take a little time to reconnect with your heart and your fierce inner wisdom.

Ask yourself:

What do I want the next chapter of my life to feel like?

What am I ready to create, change or leave behind?

What deserves more of my time and energy?

What might become possible if I stayed connected to this vision for the next four years — or the next ten?

Look back and acknowledge how far you have already come.

Look forward and notice the glimmers of excitement about where you might go next.

Then return to the present and ask: what is one small decision I can make today that brings me closer to that future?

There is a lot happening. In our lives, in our work and in the world around us.

It’s a big time for all of us.

And you are totally here for it.

As am I.
